VERMONT PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD DECIDES VELCO FINAL DESIGN

On June 25, 2007, the Vermont Public Service Board issued an Order addressing the final design for the 115 kV portion of VELCO's Northwest Reliability Project. The Boardís Order included a requirement that, in Charlotte, VELCO use lower poles and remove overhead local distribution lines and place them underground. VELCO must also examine a potential reroute of a portion of the transmission line in Shelburne, and redesign the route and the physical configuration of the transmission line in South Burlington to minimize impacts to a residential neighborhood.

SP&F represented the Towns of Charlotte and Shelburne and the City of South Burlington during the Board's "Post-Certification Review" process, and advocated on behalf of these clients for the changes to VELCOís original design ordered by the PSB.
