VELCO, Green Mountain Power and Burlington Electric Department have recently proposed a series of improvements to their systems in the Greater Burlington area. The utilities are conducting a series of meetings to obtain comments and feedback on the project, known as the "East Avenue Project."

The final meeting is planned for November 30th at the Holiday Inn in South Burlington. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. There will also be two Informational Open House events to discuss with the public the preliminary plans for the East Avenue Loop transmission upgrade. The events are planned for November 14, 2006 at St. Michael's College in the International Commons Building, and November 15, 2006 at South Burlington High School in Cafeteria 2. Both events will take place from 6 to 9 pm.
