John Klesch is a seasoned advocate whose varied experience makes him well-suited to serve the needs of the firm’s clients. John began his legal career as a litigator, appearing in Vermont’s state and federal courts and before administrative regulatory agencies. Whether he is in a courtroom or at a table with others helping resolve issues in a more collaborative manner, John is comfortable and experienced.
Following eight years of private law practice, John served as Executive Director of the Vermont Retail Association, a statewide trade organization representing the retail industry in the state. For nearly four years, John was the chief lobbyist in Vermont for the Association, advocating on behalf of the industry before Vermont’s Legislative and Executive branches.
“My professional career has afforded me the opportunity to work as an advocate before all three branches of state and federal government on behalf of clients and members. In every forum, my goal has always been the same: to achieve the most favorable outcome possible within the context of time, cost, and risk involved. A lawyer cannot always produce exactly what the client wants, but a good lawyer can obtain the best result possible under the circumstances of a particular case.”
John’s affinity for Vermont began when he was a youngster, visiting the state on family vacations. After graduating from Dickinson College in 1991, John clerked at a Connecticut law firm and then attended Vermont Law School, graduating cum laude, in 1995.
